Center for the Study and Application of Chinese Characters
Center for the Study and Application of Chinese Characters (CSACC) of East China Normal University(ECNU) was founded on November 4th, 2000. It was approved by the Education Ministry of China and has become one of the 100 key research institutes of humanities and social science in China. It is the only institution of its kind specializing in the study of Chinese characters.
CSACC also hosts the construction of Chinese language and characters as the key discipline of Shanghai Municipal government. CSACC is devoted to construct the discipline of Chinese characters and ideographic writings.
CSACC now has 11 full-time researchers, 6 part-time researchers, both at home and abroad, and more than 10 collaborative researchers.
